Steel corrosion presents a significant challenge to the durability and safety of infrastructure worldwide, with profound economic and safety implications. Traditional methods for corrosion detection and prediction often fall short in terms of accuracy, efficiency, and scalability, necessitating the exploration of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). This paper provides a comprehensive review of AI applications in steel corrosion research from 2010 to 2024, focusing on detection and prediction methodologies.
