Awareness, Integration, and Implementation Challenges of Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) Beginning Teacher Indicators Among Teacher Education Students in Basilan State College
This study investigated the awareness, integration, and challenges faced by Basilan State College Teacher Education Students regarding the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers Beginning Teacher Indicators (PPST BTIs). Using descriptive-quantitative methodology, the study surveyed 63 teacher education students during the 2023-2024 academic year. Results revealed moderate overall awareness (M=3.68) and integration (M=3.55) of PPST BTIs. Notably, the Diversity of Learners domain showed the highest awareness (M=4.12), while Community Linkages demonstrated the highest integration (M=4.08). Primary challenges included multilingual instruction management (94.2%), cultural integration in teaching (92.1%), and resource limitations (89.5%).
