Coping Mechanisms for Healthcare Providers: Addressing Stress and Burnout
Healthcare providers operate under intense pressures that expose them to high levels of stress, often resulting in burnout. Burnout, characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and diminished personal accomplishment, negatively impacts both providers and patients. This literature review explores the underlying causes of stress and burnout among healthcare professionals and synthesizes evidence-based coping mechanisms across individual, organizational, and systemic levels. The review emphasizes the critical need for integrated approaches to address this pervasive issue, highlighting effective interventions and identifying gaps in research to guide future studies.
