FET Based High Efficient Cascode Class E Power Amplifier at 28GHz Using Charge Acceleration Technique
When it comes to breakdown issues, Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor based class-E power amplifier with a cascode architecture offer excellent reliability. In a cascode setup, a charging acceleration mechanism is included between a common-gate device's drain and source to lessen the power loss of cascode class-E power amplifier. Charge acceleration minimizes the device's power loss by promptly shutting off a common-gate device when a common-source device is switched off. At 28 GHz, the suggested cascode class-E PA with Class D as the preamplifier performs with a maximum saturated output power of 27.66 dBm and power-added efficiency (PAE) of 44.91%.
