Friend Zone: Its Effect to Learners’ Emotions and Self- Esteem
This study was to ascertain the effect of friendzone to the emotions and self-esteem of learners in elementary and secondary schools. The study used a descriptive-documentary and survey design. The respondents were the 251 teachers, and 120 learners. The questionnaire used was modified and adapted [2], while the learners’ academic performance was documentary taken from their respective advisers through the approval of their school head. The result revealed that the respondents were emotional which leads to engage into a relationship. Moreover, there is a significant relationship between the emotion and self-esteem of learners. In addition, the findings indicate that there is a significant relationship between learners' emotion and their academic performance. This study concludes that the learners' emotions can affect positively to the academic success, and it resulted to high self-esteem possessed by the learners. Furthermore, the emotions play a meaningful role in shaping a learner's self-perception and confidence. Given this relationship, addressing emotional well-being could be a key factor in fostering healthier self.
