Knowledge, Attitudes and practices Towards Use of Technology in Patient Management among health care staff in Saudi Arabia
The use of technology in patient management has brought a change in the delivery of health care in Saudi Arabia. This study evaluates the Knowledge, Attitudes and practices of healthcare staff in Saudi Arabia on the application of technology in managing patients. Descriptive research approach was used and self-administered questionnaires were administered to 186 healthcare staff, selected through random sampling technique. The study shows that healthcare providers have a diverse understanding and adoption of technology. Most understand the value of technology in terms of efficiency. The attitudes toward technology are mostly positive with technology being seen as crucial to deliver high-quality care. However, some practices regarding data privacy and security affect perceptions and usage. The findings of the study suggest the importance of elaborate training interventions for each healthcare role, approaches to managing resistance to change, and information on protection of data. The future work should focus on the effectiveness and consequences of technology adoption on patient and staff experience and the best practices in technology adoption. To overcome these challenges is important for achieving the vision of using technology in improving the patient management and healthcare in Saudi Arabia.
