Methodology to increase the profitability of commercial SMEs in Lima, Peru using digital transformation and Kanban
Within the classifications of SMEs, the so-called retail or commercial SMEs are located, which largely drive Peruvian national consumption. It must be taken into account that each percentage point increase in the growth of per capita consumption It is associated with the level of employment and the competitiveness of companies, that is, 1% growth in per capita consumption generates a 2% reduction in poverty; therefore, boosting consumption is important for the growth of not only the country; In this context, commercial SMEs take on an essential relevance since, as a way to generate greater profitability, they have ventured into non-traditional sales channels such as electronic commerce, however the low levels of technology, low levels of investment, levels of culture very weak business practices, lack of knowledge of methodologies on how to implement changes constitute a barrier to the development of this sector. Therefore, the objective of the following research was to develop an agile and efficient methodology that allows commercial SMEs to implement Digital Transformation through its principles and Kanban; In this research, 362 commercial SMEs were analyzed, in which 192 were selected to implement the proposed methodology, which generated as results an increase in the performance of internal processes and an improvement in the profitability of SMEs in the short term.
