Mutual Authentication based Lightweight Security for IoT
For performing information exchange Internet of Things has become a new advancement in communication technology. IoT services become more accessible with the increase in the number of sensor devices or smart devices being in use. These devices play a major role in our lives, whether in our homes, offices, agriculture, healthcare, or other fields. Ensuring the security and privacy of data, devices, as well as underlying infrastructure, is one of the major concerns, these days. Therefore, it requires authentication of devices and session key establishment. Mutual authentication of these devices helps integrate various IoT devices and build trust and confidence in sharing data. In this article mutual authentication-based lightweight security protocol for IoT devices has been proposed taking into consideration the usage of fog-based computing. A mutual authentication-based lightweight security protocol for IoT devices has been proposed taking into consideration the usage of edge-based computing. Through mathematical analysis, it has been proved that the proposed protocol is resistant to well-defined attacks.
