This paper implements a novel Simplified Optimum Intelligent PID controller for servo permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM). An algorithm is proposed to solve the optimization problem of controller parameters in the design of a permanent magnet synchronous motor servo system. The proposed method updates the Simplified optimum intelligent PID (SOI-PID) controller gains in an online manner to drive the SPMSM with better speed response during variable load and parameter uncertainty occurrence. A comparative analysis in real-time implementation of the SPMSM with SOI-PID and interval type-2 fu

Passive Islanding Detection Techniques (PIDT) are renowned for their simplicity, absence of power quality degradation, and cost-effectiveness in implementation. However, these techniques are not without challenges, notably in the form of threshold setting limitations and a considerable non-detection zone (NDZ). To address these limitations, this research paper introduces a novel machine learning-based islanding detection technique proficient of detecting islanding events even with zero NDZ and without encountering threshold limitations. The study involves an in-depth analysis of the sensitivit

The poor insulation of concrete masonry units prompted researchers to investigate the effects of adding fiber rice straw and recycled rubber granules from waste tires to replace aggregates in concrete masonry production. The use of rice straw and rubber from waste tires has helped to create more sustainable building units by using recycled materials and reducing the energy consumption of buildings. An experimental investigation was conducted to explore the mechanical and thermal properties effects of the addition of different proportions of rice straw and shredded rubber as aggregate substitut

Clean water crisis is a significant concern in the Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged regions in Indonesia, particularly on small islands. To overcome the concern, the development of desalination technology based on solar energy is essential due to the limited sources of electrical energy in these islands. In addition, solar thermal desalination (STD) technology provides sustainable prospects for providing clean, low-cost water. Among the available STD technology, the use of Solar Still (SS) has proven to be effective due to its potential to produce clean water from seawater at lower costs

The increase in cattle rustling throughout many nations is worrying for the socio-economic and political stability of the region. Cattle rustling has been linked to fatalities, a rise in the number of those accused, and security issues. It has aided in the spread of poverty in countries like Kenya thus causing community instability. In most African nations, pastoral farmers’ way of life revolves around their livestock. Due to the export of beef to the European Union, the beef industry is Botswana’s second-largest contributor to GDP. If cattle rustling episodes are allowed to continue, ther
